AI Ads for Home-Service Businesses: What to Automate and What to Keep

AI can draft, size and schedule your ads in minutes. The judgment calls — offers, prices, which jobs you want — should stay with you.

Most home-service owners don't need another blank design tool. They need ads that exist — this week, in the right sizes, saying something true about their business. That's the part AI is genuinely good at. The trick is being clear about which decisions you hand over.

Automate the production, not the promises

Good candidates for automation are the tasks that are repetitive and low-risk:

  • Drafting variations. Five headlines, three layouts, two sizes. Testing more ads is how you learn what your customers respond to.
  • Resizing. A feed post, a story, a landscape placement — the same message re-laid without cropping your phone number.
  • Captions per channel. Facebook, Instagram and Google Business Profile each want slightly different text.
  • Scheduling. A month of posts in one sitting, published on time.

Keep these with a person:

  • Prices and offers. If an ad says "$89 tune-up", someone at the business decided that. Homivas only uses offers you've approved, and stops using them after they expire.
  • Licenses, insurance and guarantees. Never let software infer these from your website. Confirm them once and they're reused correctly everywhere.
  • Budget limits. Your ad account, your money. Automation should work inside caps you set — and an owner should be able to pause everything in one click.

Use your real work when you can

Illustrations are useful when you're starting out, and they should be labelled as concepts. But nothing beats a photo of your own crew finishing a job in a neighborhood your customers recognize. Upload job photos with a note about permission — your own work, or a customer who agreed — and use them in showcases.

Measure the right thing

An ad platform will happily report "conversions". What you actually want to know is how many inquiries became booked estimates, and how many of those became won jobs. Keep the two sets of numbers separate. Track inquiries with their source (UTM tags and click IDs), and record outcomes in a simple pipeline.

A sensible first month

  1. Confirm your brand facts and one approved offer.
  2. Create 10–20 image ads across two or three angles.
  3. Schedule organic posts twice a week.
  4. If you run paid ads, start with one campaign in your core service area.
  5. After two weeks, keep the angle that produced booked estimates and refresh the rest.

The goal isn't to replace your judgment. It's to stop waiting on someone else to make the ads.
